Former Welsh under-21 international defender Lee Beevers initially joined the Imps loan from Boston United in February 2005 but the move was made permanent three days later with the former Ipswich Town youngster joining for an undisclosed fee.

Lee, a versatile defender who can also operate in midfield, joined Boston initially on loan towards the end of the 2002/03 season when he linked up with the Pilgrims from Ipswich Town. A regular in the Ipswich reserve team prior to his move to York Street, he made his Boston debut as a late substitute in the final game of the 2002/03 campaign before making the move permanent.

After representing his country at youth level, Lee won his first Welsh under-21 cap in their game against Germany in January 2005 and followed this up with five more U21 caps following his arrival at Sincil Bank.

A successful season in 2006/07 saw Beevers sign a new contract, running until the summer of 2009, whilst he was also named as the supporters' "Player of the Season".
