Community Day 2008
Following Tuesday night's bumper crowd manager Peter Jackson is hoping for another good turn out at this weekend's action packed Community Day.
Over 5,000 people were treated to a four goal thriller against Villa on Tuesday evening and Jacko is hoping for another excellent turn out this Sunday as the Club hosts its annual Community Day.
"It felt like a European night against Aston Villa and, with plenty of things going on, I'm hoping that we get another good turn out this Sunday," said Jacko.
"I've been told that at last year's Community Day we had about 2,500 people over the course of day so I'd like to see if we can better that and get over 3,000."
The day's events are as follows:
10.00am: John Reames Memorial Service
The service for Mr Reames, who passed away in May at the age of 65, will commence in the Echo Stand at Sincil Bank Stadium at 10.00am and will be conducted by Reverend Canon Andrew Vaughan, the Club Chaplain. All supporters are welcome to attend with admission being via the Fox Executive Lounge.
10.30am: Stadium Tours
Go behind the scenes at Sincil Bank for free courtesy of the Supporters Trust. The Fox Executive Lounge, Jackson Building Centre Corner Flag Restaurant, Chestnut Homes Boardroom, players' area, manager's office, Poacher's Corner and the Club's executive boxes will all be on show for supporters. Tours will finish at 12noon.
10.30am: Stalls and Activities
We have cheerleading workshops, face painting, balloon modelling, a climbing wall, a bungee run, bouncy castles, a gladiator slide, a giant Connect 4 and lots more. Also, Poacher will be celebrating his 10th birthday so make sure you're here to join in with the celebrations! Stalls and pitches will finish at 2.30pm.
Whilst the youngsters use up all that energy parents can enjoy a relaxing drink whilst listening to a live performance from the Youth Lincoln Beevor Band who will be performing from 11.00am onwards outside the Trust Suite.
11.00am: Wii Want to Have Fun!
For the older generation The Club's the Hub are holding a 'Wii Want to Have Fun' to promote healthy exercise for the elderly. This session will take place in the Trust Suite from 11.00am until 11.45am and everyone is welcome to attend.
12.00noon: Meet Jacko and the Squad
Jacko's new-look squad will be greeting fans in the Trust Suite from 12noon onwards. The Club is expecting a bumper crowd so please come early to save disappointment.
3.00pm: Lincoln City v Lincoln United
The Imps will take on city neighbours Lincoln United in a pre-season friendly fixture, with the winners being presented with the John Reames Memorial Cup at the full-time whistle. The match will be the final pre-season friendly to be held at Sincil Bank before the Imps kick off the new season at Rotherham United.
