Lincoln City Supporters Trust have issued the following statement following the news that former Club Chairman John Reames had died at the age of 65:

Everyone concerned with Lincoln City Supporters Trust are shocked and saddened with the news of John Reames' untimely death.

John was Lincoln City through and through and his involvement in the Club brought about some undoubted achievements - not least the stadium which now exists and that we are all proud of.

John was of course pivotal in negotiations with the Trust when the ownership of the Club changed hands around the turn of the century and the donation of his entire shareholding to the Trust as part of this process remains a magnificent gesture.

He will be sadly missed and Lincoln City Supporters Trust send their commiserations to his family and friends.
