Goals from Ben Wright and Paul Green saw the Imps extend their winning run to three matches on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 success at Morecambe lifting them up to 14th place in the Coca-Cola League 2 table.

City took the lead just before the break when teenager Gary King played in Ben Wright who drilled a low shot across Morecambe 'keeper Scott Davies and although they rode their luck at times, with Adie Moses and Gary Croft clearing efforts off the line, they were always the most dangerous going forward and added a deserved second when Paul Green jinked his way through the home defence before netting his first of the season.

The Imps had chances to add a third before the Shrimps netted a consolation effort in the dying stages of added time; striker Matthew Blinkhorn firing past Ayden Duffy from six yards.

The only negative to come from the game was was the sight of Martin Pembleton being stretchered off with with a twisted knee.
