An excellent performance from the Imps on Saturday ensured 'Jacko Day' ended with three points at the expense of Brentford; City defeating the Bees 3-1 at Sincil Bank.

Teenager Gary King marked the signing of a professional contract by firing City in front in the 39th minute; his effort from the edge of the box finding the back of the net courtesy of a shocking error by former Imp Simon Brown.

City were in front for just six minutes though as Nathan Elder made the most of some hesitation in the box to head home a long ball into the area but midway through the second half Jamie Forrester fired the Imps back front direct from a free-kick on the edge of the box.

Lee Frecklington capped a fine performance by heading home a peach of a centre from Paul Green in the 83rd minute to wrap up the scoring, and the three points.
