Following Lincoln City's draw with Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON First Round tie the Imps now travel to The City Ground for the replay on Tuesday 27 November 2007 hopefully backed by a 2,000 strong crowd.

Lincoln's last competitive League match against Forest at The City Ground was during the 1956/57 Division Two season when the points were shared after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw in front of 26,780 spectators. Forest finished that season in second place and prior to the recent Cup meeting at Sincil Bank, the two sides had only met since in friendly matches.

Although the expected crowd isn't going to reach the attendance recorded 50 years ago, Imps' manager Peter Jackson is hoping that the City faithful will turn out in their thousands to cheer on his side. As at midday today (Tuesday 20 November) almost 800 tickets had been snapped up.

Jackson said, "The atmosphere generated in the first game against Forest was magnificent and it really gave our players a boost.

"The Lincoln fans are well known for their away support and having not played Forest at The City Ground for over 50 years I am sure that the staff in the ticket office will be kept very busy during the build up to the big match."

Chairman Steff Wright reiterated Jackson's call to the fans.

"The replay should be a great evening for the Club and the supporters and I'm certain that our fans will do us proud once again and pack the away end at The City Ground."

"If we can get over 2,000 on the night I'm sure we can generate a great atmosphere and that could be the deciding factor in what promises to be a cracking Cup tie."
