Tyson Brace Sends City Out
A second half brace from Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson was enough to knock the Imps out of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON at The City Ground on Tuesday evening.
Forest opened the scoring in the First Round Replay 10 minutes before the break when Kris Commons drilled past Alan Marriott from the edge of the box before a brace from Tyson early on in the second half sealed the victory for the once-famous Nottingham side.
The former Wycombe striker bagged his first in the 49th minute when he fired across Marriott whilst his second came when he bundled home from close range after Arron Davies crossed from the right.
Jamie Forrester bagged what turned out to be a consolation effort for the Imps with 18 minutes on the clock but despite some late City pressure they couldn't find another way past home stopper Paul Smith and in the end the 2,229 strong band of travelling fans left disappointed.
