The Board of Directors are delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Jackson as the new team manager.

Former Huddersfield Town manager Jackson, 46, has signed a contract that will run until the summer of 2009 and begins his job with immediate effect.

"The Board feel very positive about this appointment," said Chairman Steff Wright.

"A lot of the key building blocks are in place at the Club and we're confident that the appointment of Peter Jackson as manager will help drive the Club forward to the success we all desire."

Jackson, who will be introduced to the press and media at a news conference on Wednesday morning, added: "The Board have backed me and now it's up to the fans to back myself and the team.

"It's important that everyone connected with Lincoln City unites as we aim to climb the table. I'm really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
