Domino's Cup

Following the success of last year's competition, Domino's Pizza have once again teamed up with Lincoln City to offer local schools the opportunity to play on the Sincil Bank turf in front of thousands of supporters in the Domino's Cup.

Domino's are giving pizza vouchers to every child taking part in the competition and will also be providing the winner trophy and runner up medals for the teams that reach the final at the Imps' last home match of the season against Wrexham.

The winning primary school will take part in a Lincoln City FC training day funded by the two Domino's stores in Lincoln. The runners up will not miss out though as they will be having their own Domino's Pizza party.

The Club will be offering special discounted tickets to the teams participating on the day.

Domino's Cup Final 07/08

Sir Francis Hill crowned 2007/08 Domino's Cup Champions.

This year's finalists, Sir Francis Hill and Manor Leas, had conceded just two goals between them throughout the tournament, so the final was expected to be an extremely tight encounter.

Both teams won a corner each in the early exchanges, but chances in front of goal were limited until a long range effort from Manor Leas opened up the game. In the closing minutes the teams pushed for that elusive goal which would seal victory.

Sir Francis Hill looked to have opened the scoring when John Gaughan's free kick seemed to be flying into the top corner of the Manor Leas net, but his effort smashed against the bar.

As the game ended goalless, and with both teams having had one shot each on target, this year's competition was decided by the smallest of margins with Sir Francis Hill having won just one more corner than Manor Leas.

Congratulations should go to both sets of players for a terrific performance played in good spirit, and of course well done to this year's champions Sir Francis Hill Primary School.

We would like to thank Domino's Pizza for their continued support.
